Treatment Visit Guidelines  UPDATED April 2022

COVID-19 is a constantly changing landscape and I follow the guidelines issued by the Government, NHS and my professional associations (Association of Reflexologists and the Federation of Holistic Therapists) regarding safe and hygienic practice and the use of any personal protective equipment. 

The Government has removed domestic restrictions in relation to Covid-19. This means that you are not required to wear a mask and lateral flow tests are no longer available to use free of charge. The recommendation is that you continue to take steps to reduce your risk of catching and spreading Covid-19 by;

  • ·         Getting vaccinated

  • ·         Letting fresh air in if you are meeting people indoors or meeting outside

  • ·         Consider the wearing of a face covering in crowded enclosed spaces

As a reminder, the main symptoms of Covid-19 for adults are;

1.  A high temperature or shivering (chills)- this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

2.  A new, continuous cough - this means coughing a lot for more than an hour or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (and if you have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

3.  A loss of change to your sense of taste or smell - this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

4. Shortness of breath

5. Feeling tired and exhausted

6. An aching body

7. A headache

8. A sore throat

9. A blocked or runny nose

10. Loss of appetite

11. Diarrhoea

12. Feeling sick or being sick

​Pre-Appointment

To minimise face to face contact, any consultation or health and wellbeing forms will be sent via email or post to you for completion, following which I may contact you by telephone the day before your treatment to go through the consultation. 

Health Screening and Covid-19 Risk Assessment

The day before your appointment, I will also go through a Covid-19 pre-treatment checklist, either by phone, text or email.. This is to assess any risk factors due to Covid-19 that may affect the treatment going ahead. This includes a risk assessment of myself and my own recent activities and behaviour. If anything changes or new information is revealed between conducting the checklist and arriving for your appointment, you must inform me as I may not be able to treat you. The same applies to myself. I will continue to contact you prior to each appointment for this health screening risk assessment.​

Your Appointment

When you arrive for your appointment please park in front of the house to the right of the drive. I will come and collect you from your car. On arrival I have hand sanitiser for you to use.​

Face Coverings

Although it is no longer mandatory to wear a face covering, I will continue to do so – this is my personal preference. If you prefer not to wear a face covering for reasons of comfort, that is fine and we will already have established through the risk assessment that you are not affected by Covid and able to be treated.​

Cleaning

All surfaces in the treatment room will be cleaned before and after each client in accordance with government guidance. Any linens used will be changed for each client and washed in the normal way in accordance with government guidelines. The room will be ventilated between clients.​

Testing

I will continue to test myself several times a week with a lateral flow test. If you have any uncertainty about whether or not you are affected by Covid due to the symptoms being very similar to various seasonal ills, I would encourage you to take a lateral flow test to confirm that you are negative before your appointment.  If you are not able to take a test and you know you have been in contact with possibly infected people, I would politely request that you rearrange your appointment. Please contact me to discuss this.​

Payment

I accept payment by bank transfer, card machine or cash​

Cancellations due to Covid-19

I will reschedule your appointment if either myself or you have tested positive for Covid-19. There will be no cancellation fee charged in this case.
